Biography

A/Professor Dr Charles Siles is a highly qualified medical professional with a wealth of experience in Obstetrics, Gynaecology, and Sonology. He graduated with an MBBS degree from Melbourne University in 1984 and then specialized as an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist. He completed his ultrasound training in Sydney, Oxford and Washington. He worked with Professor Nicolaides, the founder of the Nuchal Translucency Fetal Maternal Medicine Foundation (King’s College, London) to develop the world-renowned Down Syndrome screening program. A/Professor Siles also spent time in Spain (Valencia) working on the 3D/4D ultrasound prototype during its developmental phase.

A/Professor Siles initially worked as a Senior Consultant at the Royal Women's Hospital and established a private obstetric and gynaecological practice and a private ultrasound practice. He is currently the Medical Director/CEO of Sileshealth, which has nine clinics throughout Melbourne and regional Victoria. A/Professor Siles is also a Senior Consultant at the Mercy Hospital for Women in Heidelberg and has been a Senior Lecturer at Deakin University Medical School. He serves as a National Examiner for the Australian Society of Ultrasound in Medicine (ASUM) and has been a Clinical Supervisor for the Master's degree of Medical Imaging at Monash University.

Dr Siles is a Clinical A/Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, focusing on continuing development in obstetric and gynaecological ultrasound. He is particularly interested in genetics, immunology in disease development, fetal cardiology, and medical statistics. Dr Siles is also a Bioethicist and a Medicolegal Specialist, having completed a Graduate Certificate in Bioethics and being awarded a Fellow of the Australian College of Legal Medicine. He has recently been appointed onto the Research Ethics committee at Oceanic University of Medicine.

A/Professor Siles has three children who have occupied most of his social time, and he enjoys a special bond with them. Despite his professional experience, his main pride is being a father.
